I saw Dr Elgey after my precious specialist left town. Prior to seeing him I'd had one child and survived a miscarriage and an ectopic pregnancy.

Given this I was nervous about whether or not I would conceive again and if I did how would I keep my nerves at bay. Stephen is not only an amazing person he is well versed in ensuring you feel informed and cared for. He will never let you leave his office without all the information and guidance you need. He is available to his patients at anytime of the day or night. His staff are caring compassionate and welcoming. If you want the absolute best... Stephen and his team are what you need.

Having experienced multiple miscarriages, and with my last ob retired I entered my pregnancy with a high amount of trepidation. Due to morning sickness and other health concerns I was probably the worst patient that any ob could possibly have, but at all times Dr Elgey remained calm, sympathetic, informative and professional when dealing with me. He accepted calls from me, when I had problems at ungodly hours, and would agree to see me at short notice. He made a horrible pregnancy bearable and without his care I don't think I would have my gorgeous little girl.
I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is an amazing ob and a true gentleman. I can only hope I have the opportunity to use his services again.

I spent hours upon hours, weeks upon weeks researching OBs. I had heard that some OBs would not take on overweight patients such as me, and when combined with my age, I decided to just email my OB shortlist and ask if they'd take me on or not. Dr. Elgey replied almost immediately saying he 'sees no problem at all' and asked if I would like an appointment the NEXT day! His attitude towards my concerns made me feel completely at ease and I didn't hesitate to book an appointment.

So very early on, Dr. Elgey picked up on me being a bit of a stresser and overthinker. He told me not to worry about things that might not even happen and to 'cross that bridge when we come to it'. Thanks to his advice, I become very chilled out during my pregnancy, and had the easiest and smoothest pregnancy - even better than pregnancies of people half my age! lol Throughout the entire pregnancy, Dr. Elgey keep me calm and practical.

Hubby and I honestly attribute having a great pregnancy and a beautiful healthy bouncing baby boy to Dr. Elgey. We will definitely return to Dr. Elgey for our second child.

I had a few complications during the pregnancy. My concerns generated lots of questions that Dr. Elgey addressed with patience and respect. I was most impressed with Dr. Elgey's kind and approachable manner.

While my previous experiences of childbirth had not been all that positive, my experience with Dr. Elgey was completely different. Throughout labour Stephen consulted me when making decisions on my treatment, leaving me with a sense of empowerment and respect. For example, Dr. Elgey allowed me to decide how I would give birth.

Dr. Elgey made himself available through the birth. Even when called away, he returned within minutes when required.

Dr. Elgey appeared to have a very good rapport with the other staff within the hospital.
