I just wanted to give a huge shout-out to Dr Stephen Hook. I'm not inclined to write online reviews but with ADHD psychiatrist appointments being very hard to come by, often making it a case of 'be grateful for any appointment at all', I was absolutely thrilled to discover that Dr Hook was the kind of doctor I would have chosen most willingly if I'd had a menu of options! The waiting list time was only two weeks and the booking team was very easy to deal with. My appointment with Dr Hook was via zoom and he immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease, and I genuinely felt he was interested in my story and how he could best help. Really fantastic and 100% the right person doing the right kind of work. Thank you, Dr Hook.

I've been trying to see Dr Stephen hook for almost a month now.
Sent through my referral and was told he'd overlook it and get back to me within a few days.
A week later without a response, i called and no answer. Few days later, I call back and get told he will review it that day. Left another message yesterday. No response.
For gods sake, you're a psychiatrist, the patients you guys deal with generally aren't mentally healthy or stable yet you guys think its ok to just ignore them?q

Dr Hook, during the short time I have seen him, has been rather compassionate and has listened to my unintelligible ramblings without interruption. I trust him 100%. He has not attempted to prescribe more medication than I am on and has been a kind face and voice I feel comfortable with. My first psychiatrist, I am glad I have been referred to him.

I have been seeing Dr Hook for 20 months. I found him very supporting and a good listener. We discuss options available for my treatment rather than him telling me what to do. I respect and trust him 100%. He is my treating doctor for major depression and anxiety, however he is also specialised in drugs and drinking addictions. I recommend Dr Hook for any patient suffering from any mental illness or any of the problems listed above.

I was recommended by my General Practitioner to see a phychiatrist. This was very daunting and it took me a long time to make the appointment. I found the receptionist that i initially spoke to very compassionate and reassuring. I have been seeing Dr Hood for 6 months now and am working through my issues.
