Safe to say that this was a little gem and will try to visit again. All previous reviews are on the mark.

I'm not sure how Ebi does it. But they do.
They manage to show an appreciation of simplicity, gourmet food, elegant cooking execution and budgeting. How it all balances out, I do not know, but they manage to pull it off.
I love this place for the quality food, bargain prices, simplicity and yet quiet sophistication.

I have been to this Fish and Chip shop and the food here is amazing. They serve Japanese and fish and chips. I usually have the fish and chips. You can eat in or take away. They do have other food such as delicious desserts and other seafood on the menu but I haven't tried these yet. The restaurant is tucked away between the milk bar and the florist not far from Gordon Street in Footscray so it is not hard to find. It is worth the visit. They are open 11.30 am to 8 pm Tuesday to Thursday and till 9 pm on Friday. Saturdays 5-pm. Prices are normal for a Japanese restaurant.

I love this place - it has something for everyone from good quality fish and chips to fantastic bento boxes. I love their grilled fish on rice and their miso soup rocks!

I ordered takeout here once over the phone, and was told to pick up my order within 20 minutes. Upon arrival (on time) I had to wait a further 20 minutes before my order was made. It was a Wednesday night and I assume they have a high volume of orders but there were only 2 people cooking, in full view of everyone waiting which was slightly strange.

Nonetheless the food was quite good, very fresh and tastes great with a unique fusion twist. Location also makes it easy to get to with plenty of parking around. They have a few quite original dishes on the menu which I haven't tried but expect would be quite good.

Yummy treats like vege balls which are vege version of octopus balls.
The fish is fresh daily and the chips are crunchy and golden.
The calamari is divine and comes with chips or a Japanese style salad.
You can also get a bento box with daily specials and there is super sushi boxes too.
There is bench seating for about 5 or 6 and maybe a table outside.
This is our new favourite fish and chips shop in the local footscray/seddon area.
A 'large' fish & chips last week was $12 and we got two huge flounder fillets and tons of chips with homemade tartare and lemon. Enough for two to share. OISHII!!
