Seriously disappointed. Frequently attend this venue and am usually very happy with the place. However this friday i was ejected for no obvious reason and when i politely enquired why i was being asked to leave they wouldnt give me a concrete answer. They claimed I was too intoxicated but i was completely aware of my surroundings and hadn't caused any form of disruption or inconvenience. I left the venue immediately to not cause any further disruption but when exiting the venue I asked for a reason why I was being asked to leave
and no reason was given. Meanwhile another Patron who was visibly drunk walked into the venue with no hindrance from security. The embarrassment of being ejected for no obvious reason was hurtful enough but this sheer hypocrisy that occurred immediately afterwards was too much to handle. I seriously hope the venue reviews their policy around patrons and their behaviour as not to causee another situation like what had happened to me.

Good place, our food was brought late but good, and the owner gave us free beer as compensation.

Always have a good time here, the line for the bar can be a bit crowded as this seems the place to be after work but if you get a couple drinks at a time you'll be fine. Good food, reasonably priced and there's an upstairs and downstairs outside area so lots of room to roam. Always clean and nicely decorated. Would be better if there were more places to sit.

Went to El Loco for a work party and even though the venue is small the atmosphere and service is worth it!
Everyone had a great time and the drinks were great!

I really enjoy the atmosphere here, it has been nicely decorated and just has a fun vibe and the cheap tacos are a bonus but I need a few to fill me up. Well priced and a good place to eat.

A vibrantly decorated Mexican dig in the heart of the CBD. Doesn't get overall busy and there are tons of places to sit so perfect for work lunches. Golden ale on tap and $6 tacos. If you're the hungry type, get 3 tacos as they aren't the biggest - but very tasty.

Service is extremely quick and the decor and outdoor eating area is incredible on a sunny day.

My work gave me a voucher at Christmas to use at any Merivale venue so some friends and I decided to try El Loco. I booked a table but it was extremely hard to get in contact - I called a total of 6 times and it took 3 days to confirm the booking, ridiculous. My mates and I stuck to drinks but ordered some chips which we had to go and find because they never showed up to our table. The drinks were nice but I thought expensive given the size and quality. I had an OK time and so did my friends but I don't think I'd be going back without a voucher, and we ended up leaving because of the price and the music which was nightclub loud in a place with no dancefloor so it was just irritating. One thing I did love is that the courtyard is huge, and it was never crowded or too hard to get a drink, and the decoration of the place is fun and vibrant.

El Loco is located inside Slip Inn, right near Darling Harbour. I love this place! It's very nice to find a Mexican restaurant that's fun and exciting. They have a lot of outside seating and colorful tables & chairs to hang out at.

The prices are very reasonable. I get the baja fish tacos for 6.00 each. My wife loves the El Loco hot dog. It comes with toppings such as queso fresca and relish for 10.00.

I plan on going 7/2 for their Friday special - 5.00 drinks from 5pm. They also have daily specials so be sure to check those out if you come by.

This is a nice place to come to for live music and DJs!
