Be careful with this vet clinic

To all pet owners,

I hope that before you visiting this clinic and decide to take your pet to their practice, you can take one minute to read my story. I took my cat (as showed in the picture) last Nov to this clinic for an emergency situation, the vet called Nicole Tan, gave my cat a check for around 10 mins and asked me to do a series of tests (cost me around $1600) to check whether my cat got a lung cancer. Before I even got to see any test results, on the same day, she suggested that I should euthanize my cat as curing him will cost me a fortune and still won't save him. All discussion was taken place around the area near reception.

I didn't believe that my cat is dying so I rejected her and requested to take my cat home to wait for results before making any decision. She rejected to discharge my cat and insisted to put him into a 24 hrs animal hospital in Collingwood. I have no other options but sending him there for overnight caring. However, when I received those results from CARE, no one can diagnose what has happened to my cat and they agreed to release my cat home.

Since then, my cat is still perfectly happy and alive. I have raised my case with Vetboard and pending for their review.

I put this review in google after almost one year is simply because I suffered PTSD after what has happened and I don't want to make emotional comments last year. Secondly, I put 5 stars in this review is just simply hoping more and more people can see this before I am forced to delete.

Hope your pets will be fairly treated and be your company as long as possible.

Approximate cost: $2500

This Vet clinic is AMAZING! I only wish that I had found them sooner. The care and compassion they showed my 16 year old dog Mia was phenomenal. Dr Lee & Dr Emma are the best vets I have come across, happy to take the time to explain everything in detail and answer all my questions. The kindness & empathy that Phaelin showed both Mia and I will never be forgotten. I will definitely be bringing my next fluffy friend to Elgar Road Veterinary Hospital.

Caring and professional centre that keeps an accurate record of your pets' needs and services. This is a popular vet and sometimes it can be a little challenging to make appointments to suit.

I can't speak highly enough of everyone at elgar rd vets they are so caring and understanding and nothing is too much trouble.
I had to have my beagle put to sleep recently and everyone made me feel like I wasn't alone with the loss of my dog it was as if he had become special to them too.
If you need a vet I highly recommend them they are fantastic

We used this vet when a family member who lives over this way had to go to hospital. They were friendly, very understanding and helpful at very short notice.

The cat was placed in their cattery section and received excellent care and attention. Our relative was relieved her cat was being looked after and it was much better than taking her home with us to fight with our three.

A very nice, professional and caring place. And wasn't too expensive either.

The best and most caring staff from day 1 to the last day of my 13 year old dog. From the yearly reminders for injections to the final year of diagnosing my dog's strange illness they were fantastic. One of the vets even called me during her maternity leave to see how we were coping!

These vets are some of the kindest and most caring people I have ever come across.. they can never help and give advice enough especially when my Vixen was diagnosed with an illness... As much as I don't like the thought at taking my cat to the vet, I just love taking my cat there as I have 200% faith in these vets. They are so gentle and understanding... thank god I found them years ago.... I have also recommended them to many of my pet lover friends

Approximate cost: $100

If you need a good vet clinic I can recommend Elgar Road Vet. My cat Chris has been a client for about 18 months. Chris is a 'difficult' patient and like many cats she doesn't like strangers, or visiting the vet. You will find all the staff at Elgar Road Vet are very professional and capable. They all obviously love working with animals, and are very caring and kind: both to the animals and their humans. Other services include a cattery and dog grooming. If you have any questions about your animal the staff are always able to make a helpful suggestion.

We have taken our pets to this local vet clinic for many years. The staff are very friendly, caring people who are excellent with animals. They were wonderful to us when we had to have an elderly pet put down due to illness. Very understanding and compassionate people. Highly recommend this business.
