This place seems like a good idea - cafe/restaurant serving as much Tasmanian food as possible, and also selling through their attached providore.
The large blackboard with the Tasmanian map showing where everything is sourced from is very appealing - I didn't know Tasmania had the only green tea plantation in the Southern hemisphere.
Unfortunately, our experience didn't live up to the hype.
We only had tea with scones, we thought we'd share the scones and that would be plenty. The scones were easily half the size of those you'd get anywhere else, and they were quite dry, obviously not fresh.
We also thought the daily special of scones and tea/coffee was $8 for both - not $8 for the scones alone! At over $17 for two cups of tea and one serving of scones, we were fairly disillusioned - nearly $5 for a teabag seems pretty extreme!
Other items on the menu for a larger meal sounded appealing, but after this experience, we're not keen to go back.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this cafe.
