I've just started taking my toddler to lessons and although his teacher is lovely, and the pool is in the middle of renovations, I gotta say, I have been dissappointed by the 'organisation' of this place. After filling in papers for 1 hour for my sons lessons, I was then told I couldn't have a weekly ongoing booking for creche for my other child.... That was WRONG... but as I said, the lessons and the teacher ARE good, just the organisation of the place is not ideal!

I've only ever used this centre for swimming at. There are two indoor pools- one for laps, and the other for leisurly swims or lessons. This pool has two slides, one being a water slide and the other being the same but without the water. Opposite there is a lovely toddlers pool with plastic animals in the centre that squirt out water.

Approximate cost: $4

As far as public gyms go, YMCA Eltham is quite good. Dont expect any of the fancy stuff you get at the more expensive gyms though..the equipment here is functional but not fancy, but is still more than enough for any persons work out. The staff are friendly and helpful and a membership gets you free reassessments and program updates.

However, if you prefer your workouts to be private, this probably isnt the gym for you, the place gets pretty packed most weeknights and sometimes you'll have to wait a little while to get on the cardio or use some of the more popular equipment.
