An excellent Tour.

We went on the 3 day tour of Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon.

If you are looking for luxury accomodation the look elsewhere BUT this is THE way to tour central Australia. You get to sleep in a (very warm) swag under the stars (although there is an optional shelter on the first night and a 2 person tent with bed on the second).

The food is simple but very good. All meals are catered for as well as snacks in between. This is a tour where you have to pitch in and not sit back and be waited on.

The tour is popular with your international travellers so you get to meet many interesting people. Our guide, Ryan, was amazing. He was relaxed at all times and very easy to talk to. He had a great knowledge of the area and the aboriginal culture.

The walk (most of the way) around Uluru was great. There were plenty of moments to appreciate the quiet surroundings.

The highlight was the Kata Tjuta long walk. To get around to the valley and look back at the extraordinary view was just breathtaking.

The long walk around the top of Kings Canyon was also exceptional.

There were shorter walk options each day but I would recommend getting your fitness up to a moderate level and doing the long walks to enjoy the full experience.
