Just had lunch here, it was delicious! Quick and efficient service. Had one of their lunch boxes, good mix of offerings on the plate.

Approximate cost: $15

I love En Izakya. Living nearby it's my go to for date night. The only problem is deciding what to order! There's always tasty special options. My usuals are the beef tongue and BBQ squid. Good wine list too.

For the price that you pay (mid range) the quality is 5 star. Definitely not your ordinary japanese plates. Expect interesting and delicious options such as Son in law pork meatballs (similar to a scotch egg but with pork & deep fried), sweet potato dumplings etc.

I was told of this restaurant by a family friend and was not disappointed. The terrific atmosphere was completed by quality food and drink coupled with excellent service.

I had forgotten that the servings of food was geared more toward tapas styled, which was great for my partner and I. We shared four dishes: seaweed salad (excellent !), tuna sashimi (outstanding, best I had in decades), california rolls (delicious), and steamed rice dumplings (yummy).

My only comment dish-wise would be when ordering the tuna sashimi, ask for the pistachio wasabi dressing to be on the side. Quite a lot is provided (no complaints here !) but it does tend to overpower the delicate flavour of the high-quality tuna being served as it's dressed on top of the slices. Make no mistake as I'd definitely order this dish again, this was just something to came to mind as I was dining.

If you're in to fresh, quality, and well-presented Japanese food then this is definitely your place. Enjoy !

Approximate cost: $Averaged about $15 per dish

With a wide variety of attractive small plates for sharing this restaurant is deservedly popular. Tables are a little small. Menu varies but there are plenty of options including a fair range of vegetarian possibilities. Service is very good and friendly. They have a modest wine list

Great expectations from reading The Age Cheap Eats. Dishes were overdone taking away from the flavours of the produce itself. While overall the dishes were nice, they were not representative of Japan with too much fusion and mix of cuisine - Saganaki with wakame seaweed and iceberg lettuce. 5.5 out of 10, not rushing back there.

Approximate cost: $16
