Gym is okay, but customer service is horrible, great for taking money from direct debit but not delivering the goods, stay away

Equipment and yoga is great. Customer service and communication is very poor, especially during injuries and over lockdowns.

In 2014 I signed a membership contract with ENRG fitness. When I tried to cancel this contract, the gym would not cancel it. I was told I could not cancel it online, so I went to the gym and filled out a cancellation form without a receipt. This never worked and they continued to bill me. I went to consumer affairs and was told that their contract was abusive. After negotiating with ENRG fitness via consumer affairs, we reached an agreement and I paid a $1000 cancellation fee in 2014.
I never heard from them again until 2017, when I started receiving emails from Paysmart, telling I was overdue on inexistent payments. I have told them what happened repeatedly, however they continued to ignore me until this fake debt was sent to Armagroup. Once I told Armagroup that this invoice was fake, their answer was that I had to prove it was fake. Armagroup told me that because ENRG Fitness had my details, they did not need my signature for the contract to be valid. I realised that the only way to fix this would be to take it to VCAT, so I informed both Armagroup and ENRG fitness that I would bring this to court. The response I got from ENRG fitness was to send me a new contract and a Welcome to ENRG fitness email, informing me I had just joined the gym.

Unfortunately when my circumstances changed, they refused to "allow me" to stop being a member. There are so many good things about the gym (except the dirty change rooms). I don't blame the poor girl on the front desk. It was not her fault. They tried to get me to "update" my details when they still had them, saying my token would not work. Not sure what that was about. However, it prompted me to act to stop my membership since I was unable to get there enough to benefit from being a member. I gave them a month's notice as required and did not attempt to use the gym during that time, although I was probably entitled to do so. They kept deducting money from my credit card after the month was up. I had to change my credit card and my bank recovered the payments they should not have deducted. Their billing agent (Quickpay Berwick) still send me paper bills and say it is MY obligation to supply them with information confirming I am no longer a member. This seems incredible. The gym still wants me to attend an "exit interview" but I refuse - do they really think I will change my mind after this treatment? I am no longer a customer of theirs, and, with these tactics, I would struggle to recommend the gym to anyone else.

been going here for some time now they have lots of different classes i love the body pump myself.Can get really busy at night seems to be very quite during the day,staff are very nice very clean and tidy.

I've been a member of this gym for over a year now (used to be called Nitro Gym) and have been really happy. I joined with a friend on a 12 month contract and the weekly rate is VERY affordable. The classes are great, everything from weight based to yoga to zumba! They do mixed martial arts there and have also recently opened the new crossfit room which is fantastic if you want a real workout. Very happy to continue my membership here.
