I am Polish so I love my Polish cakes - I was a disappointed in the freshness of the cakes I purchased. You could tell they weren't fresh, at least a day or two old. The lady who served also had attitude, no hello, no smile, not friendly or appreciative that I was spending money in her store. Not even a than you when she handed me my change. There's definitely room for improvement.

The cakes here are stunning. It is worth a try for a special treat. The biscuits are also a sensation. Very yummy.

for decadent European cakes, you can't go past Europa cakes. I particularly like their filled biscuits. They also serve coffee, so you can order a slice of cake and have it with coffee on their premises. I have long been going to the store of the same name in St Kilda, so was excited to find that they had a second store that was closer to us, and where parking was not a problem. They are always busy, and I wandered whether this had resulted in the less than enthusiastic approach of the people who work there.
