Far Out Play Centre

This place was GREAT but it is currently closed down! I hear they are re opening this year maybe with the hopes that the venue is larger - lets have the Eastern Shore have the best play centre for kids! Size and more to do :)

Far Out is a great play centre, but not our favourite in the greater hobart area. When it gets really busy, car parking is a problem, and cafe service is slow. Inside though, the equipment is great. Separate area for the little ones, and a disco room. The kids I take care of all love it! (But i'll never take them there on a rainy school holiday day when half of hobart is there!)

I have been to Far Out once and won't be returning.
On the positive side, the babies area is quite large and fenced so babies can play away from bigger kids safely.

On the negative side, the centre too crowded (although it was summer holidays at the time) and is very expensive compared to some other indoor play centres in Hobart

The main reason I won't be returning is due to the incredibly slow (or should I say non existent) food service. After waiting for over 20 minutes for food to come, and being told that it would be 2 mins every time I asked, I eventually gave up and left without bothering to ask for a refund. Not once did I receive an apology from staff for the delay. Who knows how much longer it would have taken them to bring out the food. Another 20 minutes maybe! That's not god enough when you have hungry children waiting for food, especially given their target market is families!

The lack of customer service has lost my business. A simple apology would have been suffice.

There are other indoor play areas in Hobart that are cheaper, less crowded and offer faster more polite service that will be getting my business in the future.

Admission to Woody's in Glenorchy is about half the price and is never anywhere near as crowded.

I've had the pleasure of taking my 5 year old daughter to Far Out Play Centre several times, for occasional play as well as birthday parties, and I've been impressed every time. The staff are always friendly and approachable, the play equipment is excellent, and the cafe serves yummy, reasonably priced food. Best of all, my daughter always has a blast!
