I stopped here during a chore run and had 25 minutes - so I thought I'd stop for my first 'cafe' outing with my new baby. I ordered a chicken roll and a cakie and bought a drink, sat down and started leafing through a magazine. Bubs was perfectly well behaved in her pram and I finally felt a bit like a human again!

I had plenty of time to sit and enjoy that sensation, as I waited...and waited...and waited for my roll. Finally, my 25 minutes was up, the baby had gotten bored and agitated at sitting in the pram for so long and I went inside to ask for my lunch to go. They offered a half-hearted-almost-attempt-at-a-kind-of apology yet still looked at me as if it was my fault for wanting to have been served within 20 minutes...?

I waited a few more minutes for my roll and headed home, feeling deflated and a bit robbed as my first cafe outing with bubs was a flop.

Fast break cafe? Maybe time for a name change?

It wasn't very busy in the cafe, I guess they'd've had 5-8 customers on the go. There were at least 3-4 staff on that I saw, and I saw plenty of meals/drinks going out around me. I've certainly gone past before and it's been very busy, so they should know how to cope with a rush/multitude of orders.

The decor/atmosphere is, well, just another shopping mall cafe. The prices were extremely high for the area and for what you receive - I'm honestly surprised that they always seem busy. It could be that they're the only cafe in the whole area? (Carrotheads is there but I think the Port demographic are scared of it as there are lentil patties on the menu).

I'll not be going back there for another break, fast or otherwise. Suggest you check it out if you've got money and time to spare.
