Recently went on a sunday night. Had a great time.
It is casual, indie chic. A hipster atmosphere is how most people would probably describe it.

The staff are really nice. Friendly and helpful.

The food is fantastic. Kudos to the team in the kitchen. The menu sounds great and definitely does not over state the dishes which arrive at your table.
The dishes come beautifully presented and servings are quite large, once you take into account the price and the usual premium applied to dinner.

Heaps of options for vegetarians too.

Approximate cost: $20

Feast of Merit is a Y-gap venture, with a focus on being seasonal, local, ethical and sustainable. The cafe is a social initiative aimed at supporting poverty alleviating projects. The profits from Feast of Merit are channeled towards their education and youth leadership projects in Australia, Cambodia, Malawi, Bangladesh, Ghana and Rwanda.
Concept wise, it is heart warming.
The food and surrounds are equally heart warming.
It is a nice classy cafe cum bistro with a slighly raw homely feel. On the evening I went, we had 12 hour slow cooked lamb joint (which yielded on the softest touch), a salad of roasted parsnip served with freekeh, mint and pomegranate molasses, fried cauliflower on creamy hung yoghurt with blackened onions and sour cherries. As for dessert, it definitely ended on a sweet note - with a lovely plum crumble, pistachio cake with marscapone, and a chestnut cake.
Good for the soul on all counts.
