I had a Bunnings kitchen installed, walls around it plastered and painted and the back-splash tiled. I was quoted his "day rate" which having used him before knew to be $250. When the time came to pay the bill, he charged me $500 a day. The silicone is lumpy, tiling crooked, the kitchen has pieces which are in the wrong way. Holes were not properly patched, cupboard doors are not properly aligned. Basically a disaster and the guy still has the keys. He was given keys as is an investment property and I couldn't always be there but after 4 weeks of attempts to recover them, I had the locks changed at my expense. Clearly not capable of completing the work that he claimed he could do.
