I have finally found a mechanic I can trust. In the past I have been ripped off by many mechanics and being female I'm guessing that's why they do this. Footscray Auto Care was recommended to me by a friend and my experience there was nothing but the best. They gave me the best service and advice on my vehicle and was honest in telling me how much time I have left on certain parts of my vechical before those parts need to be replaced which gave me enough time to set a budget. Since I have been using them I have recommended them to many other people which are also very happy.
In the past I was always attracted to cheap advertisements for serving my car and they were the ones who gave me my worst experience . After going to Footscray Auto Care , they explained to me why they advertise these services so cheap.... It's to get you in there and rip you off. These guys are straight up and told me that quality work is impossible to do at a cheap price. My theory is they base their business on honesty and intergerty and that has been my experience. If you decide to use them, I recommened you give them few days notice as they are always very busy.

Have been using Alan and his team for over 20 years. Fast, friendly and quality work is his motto. Always gives a full comprehensive written report on your vehicle. Never tackles a job without your permission no matter how small (or big). Can not recommend Alan highly enough.

UPDATE : April 2011 ..... Alan has now left this business. I now can not recommend this business. Took my car there and was treated horribly by new owner. No mention of change of ownership, no mention of price hike to 3 times the usual amount until after work complete and no phone call to say unable to do number 1 on my list of things I needed to be done (headlights) plus work done never asked for but had to pay for of course.

Approximate cost: $close to $300 for a general service on a Mazda 121 !!!!
