new style of convenience store from the metcash/iga/foodland group
I remember the Iga at this site and was curious to see what this place was all about. Had been shopping at the nearby woolies and coles.
yesterday I went in to see what it was all about and was pleasantly surprised.
prices are reasonable for a convenience store let alone supermarket in the cbd.
tomato medley was even cheaper than both of the 2 major brands of supermarkets close by.
This place caters for people on the go with soups hot to go with small bread rolls, hot pasta to go and a small selection of marinated and other meats. fruit salads and even their ready made salads looks fresh.
I returned today being cold in melbourne to buy some chicken and corn soup lge $7, marinated ribs for dinner which were probably cheaper than the majors and maple pecan plaits $2.50 ea which were cheaper and fresher than the one I bought yesterday from woolworths across the road.
The staff are friendly, always smiling and happy to help.
Very nice place to pick up food on the go while holidaying in Melbourne.
