I have been a patient of this practice for many years under Dr. Scott (old practice owner), during which my Invisalign resulted in an open bite on my front teeth (front teeth do not touch + inability to bite food and close my jaw comfortably). Under Dr. Scott, I had been continuing treatment in order to close this open bite.

I was offered bite blocks and free continuation of my treatment (of either more Invisalign or traditional braces) to fix this bite issue. This is the plan I have been undergoing for the last few years.

As of last year, the practice changed ownership from Dr. Scott to Dr. Hawkins.

Dr. Hawkins, from the very first appointment, refused to acknowledge my ONGOING treatment already in place, and told me I must pay $500 for bite block replacements that I am currently using (which used to be provided to me as part of my treatment with Dr. Scott), and also asked for an additional payment of approx. $5000 for me to discard my old (currently ONGOING) treatment and begin a NEW treatment under Dr. Hawkins.

My bite blocks (used daily) are broken and no longer in a safe condition; I was in the middle of my treatment hoping to advance to the next stage with either more Invisalign or traditional braces to finally close my bite, so have no normal retainers to return to. My old treatment is entirely discarded under this new management, and I am feeling very hopeless and worried for the state of my teeth.

After almost 3 MONTHS of back and forth, there has been zero advancement of the issue.

The lack of communication between Dr. Hawkins and Dr. Scott regarding my treatment case and the resulting issues this has caused has been pushed onto my shoulders as the patient.

I am at an honest lost for words at the absurdity of this issue, and the way this practice is handling it.

This practice’s values are clearly shown through this messy situation. Be wary coming here for your orthodontics treatment, who knows what may happen to your treatment plan when things get hairy in the management side of the practice.

I have been trying very hard to contact them regarding the issue but have not received an email response from the practice for over 3 weeks now.
I can confidently confirm that my teeth are not “fresh” or straight or functional after the service of this practice.

Can you give zero stars? Do you not spend your money here. They wrecked my adult teeth and they don’t care. The owner, my orthodontist, Craig Scott, was more interested in telling me about his overseas trips than actually doing any work on my teeth. The braces were on for nearly 4 years. And he did not fix the impacted tooth, which went up into the gum as soon as the braces were off. I went to the dentist after the braces came off and had to have 3 teeth removed because there were no roots systems left. Also had to spend thousands on cosmetic work to fix the front of my teeth. During the course of the four years Craig would see me every six weeks and say “all looks good”, then send me away, without work. In the interim, wires would come out and stick into my gums regularly. leading to lots of pain and blood. So much fun when you work. I had to buy my own set of pliers to pull the loose wires out between appointments. This man is a talentless narcissist, do not send your children to him. He told me that the braces would be on for approximately one year and anything was possible. In year four when I was crying because I wanted the braces off, he got a female staff member to look after me in the last six months. If you want to have less teeth, and the remaining ones sore and loose and yellow, this is your man!

Horrendous. My initial appointment I was told I would need jaw surgery after wearing Invisalign. When I queried what would that involve my response was “they just chip away at the bone a little bit” - flippant comment, no big deal basically.

I got to a new aligner and it would not fit. I go into the clinic and I’m told it’s now time for surgery. At this stage I find out all of the information I was NOT told and informed of at the very beginning;

- I would need upper and lower jaw surgery (FYI THATS BREAKING MY UPPER AND LOWER JAW)
- It is major surgery and would need 3 weeks off work
- I would have to have a liquid diet for weeks (am skinny enough as it is - don’t need to lose weight)
- COSTS will be ENORMOUS $24,000 if you don’t have private health cover (I don’t)
- Go get quotes for breaking your jaw
- The Invisalign will cost $8,000 plus an EXTRA $24,000 for surgery...
- If you don’t have private health insurance go look into it - get the right cover so you are covered for the procedure....
- If you don’t have the right health cover it will cost you $20,000 - $30,000

My open bite has been made WORSE from the aligners. I can’t afford jaw surgery and I’m not in a position to wait 12 months (most likely longer) for the surgery in the public system

I could not be more disappointed, upset and frustrated...

My breathing has been affected also. I can’t breath like I used to be able to before I had Invisalign

AWFUL....

At a mature age, I was seeking orthodontic work on my teeth - I was treated with respect, honesty and the staff are just so professional about the way they go about their work. i was so impressed, I then sought treatment for my teenage daughter!

helpful friendly attentive staff when my son and i attended to check a tooth that wasn't growing out straight. Female orthodontist explained x-ray clearly and told of possible tooth growth outcomes in the future and staff said would be in contact in six months with a reminder call to see if further treatment necessary, thankful his tooth grew out okay naturally

Approximate cost: $free for 1st consultation
