Predominantly a sushi place but I go there for the beef teriyaki bento meal. Also like to get a serve of the gyoza what are some of the best in Geelong. They have a few tables and chairs in the store so you can eat and the service is always very quick. Since the prices have gone up recently, I do find that getting the main meal as well as the appetiser is a little expensive but it is still reasonable.

Quality sushi here. Large variety of sushi. Nice little eating areas inside and outside. Staff are all efficient and friendly. One of the two best sushi places in town.

My favourite sushi place in Geelong. The mixed roll is my favourite - I don't really know what it is that's in it (fried fish crumb? Not sure). I've had hot dishes once or twice, and while they're nice, the sushi is the real winner here. Takeaway sushi service is fast and almost a little rushed, a big queue at lunch hour means you don't have long to look at the sushi available, but you soon find your favourites.

I've been going to Fujisan for well over 10 years now. My teenager was in a pram actually and their location was in Moorabool st.. where they were largely ignored, trying to break new ground in the sushiless CBD. Their sushi is of reasonably good quality (I have tasted better), however, what lets them down is their poor, impersonable service. I once caught out one of the owners in a lie. She didn't realise she was talking to one of her regulars over the phone. Ever since she has acted like I owe her money. She never says please or thank you (.. it's pretty much 'rudeness' I have to say). She won't make eye contact and says things to her employees that make them stare at me and giggle or just STARE. But it's not just her. Service is rushed and unfriendly. In fact I find most sushi joints in Geelong have the lions share of unfriendly staff who give the impression that they hate everyone or their jobs.. or both. It's almost funny the amount of times I've boycotted Fujisan and then go on to boycott other sushi joints too. What do you do when you love sushi yet nobody seems to deserve your business? I could go to Sushi 8 a couple of doors away - but the female owner their too is seriously fake and doesn't know how to look after her regular customers. What do you do when they promise you a birthday booking and you arrive to find they've given it away to a much larger group?

Fujisan don't deserve my business... and they remind me of episode I've seen on 'Frasier' and 'Seinfeld' .. where the characters can't stand the proprietors.. but really want the goods. I guess it's 1- 0 Fujisan.. but I hold onto hope that friendly people will inherit the Japanese joints of Geelong one day... ?

For the best sushi in town - and trust me, I've tried a few. I find them good value for money, and very traditional Japanese. Due to the busy store they can be a bit pushy to get you to order, but always the most delightful taste! I always crave for more...

Approximate cost: $5
