Most people love it when they hear the word "Free" so the GoMA is already off to a good start. Most of the exhibits were visually stunning, if not Art, but what do I know?
Downstairs tucked away from most of the Gallery is a kids section. When we went (weekday), the kids were able to make masks and our four year old was able to pretty much have the run of a craft table to himself and had a great time. He made his sister and himself a mask, whilst I joined in as well. We weren't rushed and he had a great time!
There was also a communal colouring sheets, but he didn't see the point since another kid has already messed it up! Also not being able to take it home, seemed a little silly to a 4 year old.
But I take my hat off to Brisbane City and GoMA for having something like this for free and for families.
Approximate cost: $0
I love GoMA. The screenings of eclectic films and documentaries is great, and often free (although donation box is at entrance). The exhibits are very interesting, interactive, and I find can be psychologically stimulating, just as art should be. Some exhibits have still stayed in my memories after a long time. One of the highlights of my time living in Brisbane :)
A fantastic gallery that caters to a wide range of tastes. The exhibits are usually incredibly well set up, and there's a lot of attention to detail when it comes to making exhibits more interactive. All in all a wonderful way to spend a day.

Many exhibitions are an acquired taste, but some are spectacular such as the Valentino exhibition and Ron Mueck.
Great to have another space in Brisbane to see high art.
