This cafe has got a pretty great location and adorable decor - the way it has been set up is really great- always a sicker for white everything and lots of glass and natural light.

I called in with two friends for a coffee - their menu is small but looks appetizing. It doesn't appear they have a full kitchen so all the food is prepared in small ovens etc. I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing, all the food we saw come out looked very yum and the menu options, particularly the Ploughman's lunch were very tempting.

However we stuck with cake and coffee - coffee was pretty good. The raspberry cake with white choc icing was good but not particularly memorable. Should have stuck with my gut and gone the brownie!

One of the great things about M&G is that they have very reasonable prices for genuinely lovely looking homemade food. There were a few little quibbles regarding the wait staff - no table service which isn't always bad, but 15 min to bring out a piece of cake? And then we asked for sugar for the coffee and they forgot. Just little things - often things that are just a one off, in my experience so I try not to put too much stead in them!

Approximate cost: $14
