Great local market with fresh, cheap quality fruit & vegies. Bought 2kgs of cherries for $10 the other day. Not too hectice and easy to get in and out.

Every Saturday morning from 7am-1pm, Gleadell St is closed off to traffic and becomes a Farmer's Market. If you live in Richmond or nearby, this is a great place to come for fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, seafood, dried fruits and nuts, honey, free range eggs, flowers... you get the picture! My favourite stall is the organic produce guys and the eggs are well worth it too. Look for seasonal bargains, like a whole tray of mangoes or strawberries for $6-8 in summer: perfect for jams and preserves.
