After leaving Hahndorf centre, we stopped here for apples. The apples are grown in the adjacent orchard and are always fresh. Apple pies etc are on sale here sometimes too. Always nice. Need to visit here on the way to the freeway to make parking easier and safer.
This quaint little store on the side of the road caught my eye, the sign reading apple pies! I pull over and purchase an apple pie and take it home for my family. I am not a fan of apple pie at all but can comfortably confess I am on my 3rd slice! The Apple Pies are INCREDIBLE!!!! I am converted, and every family member of mine that ate this pie felt the same.... Thankyou so much for that perfect culinary experience. I challenge anyone to make a better apple pie than this one xxx Thankyou again

This roadside fruit shop sells apples that are grown on the Glen Vimy Orchards and come straight from the trees. It is open a good percentage of the year while apples are available.
It has been in this position for as long as I can remember. The apples are prepackaged in different weights. The granny smith apples make fantastic apple pies and the red apple varieties are very good eating. Sometimes there are fruit pies that have been made locally available which means you don't have to make them.
The stall is located on the left hand side of the road going towards Adelaide so it is safer is you stop on the way to Adelaide. It has become an icon of the Adelaide Hills area

If you come off the freeway to Hahndorf this is one of the first places you'll see. The problem is you'll be on the wrong side of the road! So do a quick u turn their on the right hand side going towards Hahndorf main street.
Glen Vimy Orchards is one of the apple orchards scattered around the hills, and being that it's on the edge of Hahndorf it's one of the most convenient.
Like most other stalls they don't sell just apples. You can get some olive oil, pies, cakes, and juices. The apples are excellent quality, and make for a healthy snack or desert.
I have been buying my apples here for a while now wont buy from anywere else, @ times i get their little cakes which are so yummy freshly baked & i tried their apple pie which is so yummy.
