One downside to this place is you can't book but there seems to be plenty of room so you needn't worry.
There were no tables so we ended up sitting at the bar which was indeed enjoyable as the kitchen is right in front of you.
The restaurant reminded me of Izakaya Den as the kitchen was the same set up they prepared, cooked everything in front of you. The food is all types of asian cuisine quite simple though.
The main reason i was dying to come here were for the lobster rolls, Which were quite tasty but i was reminded of a fillet of fish from Mcdonalds every time I took a bite.
A much more expensive kind and much better quality too.

This is the kind of restaurant you share dishes with the rest of your party with. we also had a beautiful raw tuna dish, oysters, crispy duck rolls which were delicious and a peanut butter parfait. Overall we had a very enjoyable experience

WOW, just WOW. Golden fields has to be my FAVOURITE asian restaurant. The lobster roll was absolutely gorgeous, buttery brioche with beautiful fresh lobster. And the twicwe cooked duck was so much fun to make at the table, it tasted just gorgeous too. Everything we had was cooked perfectly, and flavours were well balanced on all accounts. Make sure you save room for dessert. The peanut butter parfait was so good!!

Approximate cost: $35

WOW! What a gem! Andrew McConnell surprises with this yummy, stylish yet casual Asian fusion!
Was told they don't take bookings (not sure if true?) and came early (6:30pm) Got a table without any problems, but by 9 pm the place looked full and buzzing.
When I first came in I was greeted by very cool and funky staff, well groomed and mannered. Some with a bit too much attitude, but not a turn off. Service from then on was just the right blend of attention and leaving us alone.
Food menu was interestingly put together and matched the modern interior architecture and design.
We had the raw duckfish, lobster rolls, whole flounder and peanut butter desert - all they were all exquisite!! The lobster rolls are incredibly addictive. The fresh lime segments and burnt butter on the flounder were fantastic. It's been a week and the flavours are all still very fresh in my mind.
As for wine - good extensive menu with sake and plum wine on offer as well as a range of Australian and European varieties. The somalier was on hand. Not sure he knew all the wines though as he advised our wine of choice would be dry but it was actually very sweet. It was the perfect wine anyway, just didn't match his description.
Basically this place rocks! Great for a date or pricey family dinner. Every cent well spent.

Approximate cost: $35

Hey annas19, great review! Have heard great things about this place and your review really gave me the nudge I need to go and try them out.

Went on their website and it's a shame you can't book for a small group... just wondering what day you visited them? I've been to places that don't take bookings and had to wait 1.5 hours for a table! I just want to be prepared if the wait is long. Cheers!
