Recently visited this patisserie. Ordered and ate in at the cafe to sample the plated menu items in addition to the take home pastries. Very glad I did. The menu is very inventive, clever, fresh and uniquely delicious. For example, where else would you get choux pastry with lemon myrtle leaf, or a lemon and yuzu cheesecake, or if you are feeling more hungry, a curry bun with crumbed pork, tonkatsu sauce, kewpie mayo and slaw. THey do also have more classic plates like beef bourguignon with potato gratin and seasonal greens, or the croques if you want to go for known food flavours.
A cafe attached to a bakery, this place place has really good pastries. They used Lescure butter and french flour to produce authentic french pastries just as they would be like in a parisian cafe.
The Cafe menu includes breakfast dishes such as bruleed French toast with creme anglaise and poached rhubarb. Or hearty lunches such as Cape Grim beef bourguignon, potato gratin and seasonal greens, and a selection of sandwiches that range from curry bun with crumbed pork, tonkatsu sauce, Kewpie mayonnaise and slaw, to a paprika bun with slow-roasted lamb shoulder, smoked yoghurt and tabouli.
Yum!
Mouthwatering description - thank you
