Nice atmosphere, was packed when I went but even that made no dent in the way I would rate their service and their food. Peppercorn chicken was succulent and the pricing is good too. The bar is a bonus and fried icecream gives these guys a extra star as its my fav!!

Green Peppercorn is located in The Fairfield Hotel and is modernly decorated with a Tuk-tuk and bird cages. Although this place has a modern look and feel, they do make some really yummy authentic Lao and Thai food.

Our meal began with some fruit shakes which is a make your own shake with a selection of 3 tropical fruits with is blended into a thick smooth drink. They also have a good selection of beers and cocktails. For our main meals we ordered Soft Shelled crabs (which was so good), chicken green curry, seafood pad kee mao (a spicy stir fried noodle) and some Lao sausages.

Unfortunately my friends and I were too full for desserts, but a lot of the other patrons there did order this giant size ice cream sundae and the fried ice cream also looked delicious.

If your coming here for dinner, I do recommend you arriving early as it does get busy (even on the weekdays).

We went to this restaurant with our friends we all enjoyed the food and service here. I like the decor as well especially big Buddha statue.. We had pad Thai and red curry and both of them was spicy and tasty. We also tried their pork belly which melted in our mouth. Great price, nice staff and really good food.

Approximate cost: $20

Located inside Fairfield Hotel ( across from Fairfield Train Station) is the beautiful and elegant Green Peppercorn Lao & Thai Restaurant! Inside the decor is amazing! They have a life sized Tuk -Tuk, bird cage lights hanging from the ceiling, golden statues and all things associated with the country Thailands culture and heritage! It's quite spacious and roomy, very cozy too!

We started with the chicken pad thai. The chicken slices and rice noodles were coated with the sauce consisting of tamarind accomopaned with chives, garlic, egg, onions, crushed peanuts and bean shoots! It was well cooked and not overly sticky with the sauce!

Next came the Tiger Beef Salad with lots of beef strips marinated in herbs and spices and mixed with cucumber, mint and kaffir lime leaves, chilli, coriander leaves, some shallots. Combined together, the flavours sang on your tongue and was really enjoyable to eat!

We had the fried ice- cream for dessert! It was heavenly. It came out wrapped in a filo style pastry and in the shape of a triangle! Cutting into it with my spoon , it glided through effortlessly! It was so soft, creamy and how a good dessert should taste! It came served with coconut museli and a caramel sauce!

Although prices are more generous then I was expecting, the food is amazing! The staff are friendly, chatty and happy to offer recommendations on food! Will definitely return, had an enjoyable time! Food was delicious!! 5 stars!! *****

The first time i went there with a friend, we had ordered quite a few entrees and dishes, it costs us $70 but the service was great. One dish had an eyelash in it, the manager had not charged us for the dish but gave us a replacement dish with extra in it with sincere apologies. The pandan creme brulee is popular and very delicious there, I would definately come back again for its good food and service.
