This is not a place to go if you want a nice "experience". I was greeted by the owner, who was friendly & nicely dressed, but that's when the "experience" ended. The "senior" who was doing my hair was young & dressed shabbily in baggy, stained clothes that were inappropriate for a hairdresser to wear in my experience. We decided to add a colour onto my package, which she didn't do a very thorough job of, as not only did she leave it on my forehead & ears to stain until she'd completely finished (by then it wasn't coming off properly & I had to ask for extra wipes to do it myself), but there were patches throughout the top of my hair that weren't covered properly (because it was tangled as she didn't even bother to brush it first) which I didn't notice until I got home. They had no bathroom, so I had to walk a fair way to go to the toilet with colour in my hair. I was not offered a drink & when I asked for one, I was given horrible instant coffee with lumpy long-life milk in a cracked, old coffee cup & to go with it, some year & a half old, falling apart magazines to read. I had to ask to get the colour removed, as I believe it was on too long according to my calculation (I think she may have forgotten to set the timer?). My hair was then washed twice, which I thought was bizarre, as most of the colour just went down the drain. I was left to sit there for longer than I should've with a "treatment" on (just felt like normal conditioner.. was given only a very short head massage & had to ask again for it to be removed). The radio was waxing & waning static & after an hour I had to ask for it to be fixed. The cut, although quite nice, was not checked properly, as again, on closer inspection, I discovered that the length of the sides was uneven & the way that it had been cut differed on either side. By this stage, the girl who was doing my hair (who had dropped the "F" bomb several times by this stage) started to blow dry my hair, which was not a proper "style" dry.. more of a dry off with a brush. I had to ask three times for her to fix my fringe, as she kept leaving bits out. And to top it all off, a poor lady was sitting & waiting to see the owner for nearly the entire time I had been in there, which was over two hours!. Yes, my hair was shiny & looked healthier, but that was overshadowed by how uncomfortable I felt. The state of the salon, with bits of paper sticky taped all over the walls, unswept hair, old decor & mags, to the lumpy coffee, inattention to detail & having to ask for everything, made it not an "experience" I would pay to repeat.

Approximate cost: $50

I though it was fabulous when a new hairdresser opened just down the road from where I live. Then I went there and got my hair butchered and paid an above average cost for the privilege. It should ring alarm bells when the hairdresser has no knowledge of jargon such as Mohican Mowhawk or Swooping Fringe and what you walk out with a short back and sides, about what you would expect from a barber for $10.

Approximate cost: $38
