Hairplay is situated just outside the restrooms between Coles & Aldi. At $13 for a man's cut, it is one of the cheapest hair salons inside Westpoint Blacktown. The queue can be long & there are not many seats. Usually, I cut my hair there when the queue happens to be short. I have been pleased with my hair cut on both occasions. The hairdressers are very businesslike.

I got the worst haircut of my life from this place. I was in Blacktown Westpoint visiting a friend and needed to get my hair cut so I went to Hairplay on the bottom level of the shopping centre. I chose this salon because it was clearly indicated $18 for a womens cut. I walked in and spoke to a very rude woman who said that the haircut would be $20 without any explanation why my haircut would be more expensive. I didn't want to complain so I sat and waited for my turn. I showed the hairdresser a picture of what I wanted, a shoulder-length bob with minimal layering.

The man started by grabbing chunks of my hair and cutting off long locks at a time, which resulted in the worst layering ever. By the end of it, I wanted to cry because my hair was basically two levels, very short on the top and very long at the back. The eptiome of terrible layering. I was also tying to hold my breath the whole time because of the man's strong body odour, which was very unpleasant. I saw chunks of my long hair on the floor as I stood up and held back tears. I thanked him politely and went to pay because I didn't want to make a fuss. When I went to pay, the rude lady charged me $25. At this point, I really had had enough. I asked why it was so expensive and she made up some ridiculous excuse that it was because of the extra layering that I had asked for. I payed her because at that point I just wanted to get out of there, then I ran to my car. As I stood in the carpark and looked at my reflection in my car window I was horrified, then I threw it up in a messy updo and drove home crying.

It has been a month now since the haircut from hell and it hasn't started to grow back so I recently went to a hairdresser at Chatswood Chase where I paid $117 to get it fixed. The hairdresser could only fix a little bit of it, but these days I prefer to keep my hair up in a messy bun. Hopefully one day it will grow out and I will gain my confidence back.

If you can learn anything from this story, it's to never get a $20 haircut, and NEVER ever go to Hairplay hairdressers at Westpoint Blacktown.

I walked into the store on my lunch break to cut my hair, The staff were allright one lady jst stared at me while I was getting my hair cut I wanted long layers because I wanted to keep my lenght. The older lady cut my hair, she sprayed my hair my clothes and my face while cutting my hair, By the time she finished I was all wet and had to go straight back to work. I asked her before she started how much it would be she said $13 by the time she finished it was $30 -_____- When I got home I straightened my hair and was shocked by what i saw it was sooo short and the layers were really choppy!! Now I cant tie my hair up properly without pieces flying everywhere ! I wouldnt recommed them to anyone! It was a waste of time and money and I wish I went somewhere else!! Never again!

you can get kids hair cuts for $10 here,we had a pretty average waiting time normally i wouldnt expect much for that price but they did a really good job and i was quite pleased,the young guy had his hair the way i wanted my boys cut so that helped as well.Pretty good but not a wow
