Really nice ice cream, but texture is different than your usual gelato. It's definitely on the thicker and heavier side. This place makes my favourite chocolate ice cream. It is rich and dark, smooth and creamy. The Dulce is also amazing. Really high quality ingredients and the product is leagues above the others along here. It's something interesting and new too. The flavours rotate so you knows its fresh.

Ice cream here is on the pricier side but you know what, it tastes wickedly good! From interesting flavours like rosewater and blood orange to the yummy salted caramel and dulche de leche, the artisan side shines through. Its almost every tub is lovingly handmade.

Despite being full from a delicious dinner at one of the italian restaurants along Lygon St, after a taster of the Argentine Tea icecream I had to get my self a serve. And being a sucker for salted caramel, after a taster of that icecream I wad tempted to order a double serve. Alas, I refrained which is a good reason to come back :)

quaint with a good twist of exotic latin american flavours in the heart of the lygon street italian district, of all the ice creameries this is definitely my favourite! their salted caramel ice cream is to die for!

Excellent, high quality, artisan gelato. The flavours are numerous, with a mix of classic (ie. raspberry, mango) and modern/international varieties (ie. black seasame, salted caramel, dulce de leche, durian, peanut butter).
You can tell that it is made from high quality ingredients, with care and very fresh, from the flavour profile on the tongue, the texture (not too airy from use of chemical stabilzers, or dense).
My only complaints would be that at $10 (for 3 scoops of the classic flavours, the more interesting deluxe flavours will cost more) or $5 (for 1 scoop), and mind you the scoops are not the big ones they give you at Trampoline, it is a little expensive. Add to that the fact that it is served in a small plastic takeaway tub and if you choose to stay and eat at the premises, the surrounding decor & seating is nothing to comment about. This is intended to be a takeaway joint.
For similar quality and price point, I would choose to go to Tutto Bene at Southgate, for a more upper class experience. But if you are looking for a more bohemian experience, this place is good.

Ice cream doesn't get much better than this. Top quality,good strong flavour, unique hard to find flavours, ice cold Argentinean creamy deliciousness. Yes it's more expensive than most places but it's also alot better quality,taste than pretty much every other ice cream place in melbourne other than what you get in top restaurants.
If you don't believe me that it's this good well try it for yourself.

One of my best friend recommended me to go to Helados Jauja, so i ended up going to the Helados Jauja.

I chose the Argentina coffee and Argentina tea flavour. They have creamy texture and strong flavours. For those two flavour, I paid - $8,60. It is a bit pricey compare to other shops, but it worth to try.

The staff is very friendly, they told me the story on how to make the ice cream which is how they can get the strong flavour from. for example: the Argentina Coffee flavour: they roasted the coffee bean in order to get the strong aroma and coffee flavour into the ice cream.

P.s - Each person has a limit of trying two flavour only.
