My work was a very simple left brake adjustment that turned in to over 4 hours and in the end it was far worse than it started.
They made up all sorts of excuses saying the cable is worn, which it was not as the other brake was perfectly working, then they said the self-adjuster was seized which is a simple plate onto ... another that would take minutes to maintain with CNC, now this was over 4 hours later and when I thought they had finished as I was waiting only yards away the whole time 3 mechanics and the staff looking at it puzzled.
They then said its the best they can do and was 95% working which I thought OK.
When I went to the testing station it did not show up at all on the brake computer machine so I jacked it up and placed the hand brake on and pushed the wheel around by hand and was same when it was not working maybe 5% not 95%...
I took it back and they said if I machined the drum it should work and contacted a mobile drum lath service who needed power plug to operate their lathe.
They said they would not allow using a plug so I went to the mobile lath home address and lathed the drum and placed back on car and it was much much worse and the lath guy said it needs new brake pads.
I went back to the work shop in hidden valley and told them it was not working and the they argued with me in a threatening way and that all they were told to do is adjust the brake not check the brake pads.
I went and brought some brake pads at ABS just on 5 pm and then brought a set of pliers from Repco and replaced the pads outside their store in about 30 minutes.
It had 100% no traction so I thought it may be the drum was lathed too much and went the wreckers the next morning and brought a new drum and that made no difference.
I then studied the problem for about 5 minutes and all it was is the brake adjuster that had a small slot for a screw driver to set it manualy and then slide the drum back on, bingo the brakes work 100% and passed the inspection with flying colors.
I told them why they did not do this simple job and why so many mechanics could not fix It and then it was like tag wrestling and tried to make me feel bad and said all sorts of excuses and insults which one excuse they said was you speed backwards and slam on the brakes on and the adjusters should self-adjust and keep doing that till it worked which is cob wash and something they did not do in the first place, then gave me a further list of excuses that the simple screw driver is not the way even though the brake specialist after I did this said they do it all the time.
They both threaten me and told me to never come back to their shop again which is another joke as why would I, and I said as walked out the door I will do this review as their threats do not worry me.
I am not a mechanic but after seeing through and looked at the problem myself, I solved this in 10 minutes as they wasted one and half days of my time running around plus the money that was spent on parts that are not needed and their wasted labor they charged me that where not required and most of all the needless insults to top it off..
They joked saying its not much money but its not the money its the principle and my time and their insults.
I felt sorry for their workers who looked under extreme pressure.

This place is an absolute rip off! I (female) took our car in to be serviced, my husband picked the car up to find a bill for $360, and all they had said they had done was change the oil, which we had told them we put brand new oil in 3 days before (and it was the exact same colour and consistency as we had put in. When they were questioned they said the oil we used was really bad quality so thats why they changed it, when in fact we bought the most expensive oil at the shop ($80). They also said they had to replace the plug in the wiper reservoir. To do this, they would have had to take the car apart and the car was sooooo dusty there were no hand marks of signs of it being done. The did a basic check on the car, said they had hooked a computer up to reset it because of a warning light (which was on again teh very next day) All in all I will never ever be going back to this place.
