Had an eye emergency and able to see the specialist on Christmas Day with surgery the next day. Just brilliant, could not have asked for better [Retracted medical comment]. He saw me again at 8pm the next Sunday for follow up check. I would recommend them to anyone looking for highly professional care.

I went to Hobart Eye Surgeons for a second opinion, and requested to see a person who specialises in the issue I am having. I was booked in with Dr Alex Hewitt. I waited over 45 minutes after my appointment time to see him. He said that he didn't know anything about the issue I was having and it was NOT his area, and the doctor I had already seen was the "expert" so I should keep seeing him. He seemed to have not read my referral, as his only other suggestion was to try basic treatments that had already failed. For the privilege of waiting over 45 minutes and receiving no advice, I was charged over $80 with no rebate.

If you have complex, ongoing eye problems (or dislike spending significant amounts of time in waiting rooms full of sick staff and patients), I would advise you to go elsewhere.

Managed to get an appointment the same day, had a very nice doctor to see me, very polite and very efficient. Very glad I went to see them.
