I'm a single Mother of two young boys, Patrick and Sam. My boys are obsessed with R/C cars and planes, the staff member that served me was freindly enough and helped my boys select the correct part for their damaged car. Unfourtunately, the suburb of Dandenong now attracts a sub-class of social undesirables, so please be careful that you dont leave valuables in your car when parking.

Approximate cost: $25.00

I came here for a specific item for a friend of mine. I have absolutely no idea about model planes/helicopters etc and am soooo thankful he gave me details for the model and part he was after because the sales staff are far from helpful! Though the attendant who served me wasn't completely rude as I observed any other customer having difficulty. Staff here seem to be in their own world and are not afraid to let you know either! I would probably only recommend expert enthusiasts to this store as you'd be pressed to find some decent and friendly help otherwise.

I have been in to buy items I knew they had in stock, like new planes, and no problem, just grab the item off the shelf myself and pay for it.. But a number of times I have seen angry customers fighting with the staff, resulting in both sides swearing and threatening each other, I wondered how that could happen, well I found out when I didn't just buy something off the shelf and asked for help..

I went in with my 3 year old son to get a ball bearing for an rc car, I didn't have the model number of the ball bearing, but I did have the exact measurements. A product number is worthless as I don't need one brand just that size of a pretty standard/common item..

So anyway the attendant when asked for a 9x3mm bearing with 5mm hole said "Why can't you be the first F@$! customer to come in with the F@$! model number of what you want so I don't have to F@$! look it up for you..." In a very aggressive manner and went on complaining about the F@$! customers to me.. So now I understand the aggression I have seen before in the store, I didn't get in to that, I avoided fanning the flames and took my son and left asap... I won't be going back again..

In regards to the bearing I went to another hobby shop in Boronia who helped me without issue and was surprised anyone would want a model number for a bearing let alone the aggression. I spent a few hundred on other stuff while I was there, sadly for Hobbyman they lost out there almost immediately as the bearing was not all I was after but I wouldn't stay with that attitude..

Hi Joel77, Wow, what a way to treat customers and speak in the presence of children! Attitude is everything and if this business cares so little for its clientele, then they should perhaps consider finding a different type of employment that doesn’t involve dealing with the public. I hope you made a formal complaint about your experience; after all dysfunctional businesses need to be made aware of ‘why’ they are losing a long-term, paying customer. Irrespective of this, we are pleased to hear that you have located a more professional store to deal with, even if they are a little out of your way. Regards, Reeces
