I have been eating food from Hong Kong City now for many years and the service and quality of the food has always been consistent, thus making it one of the best Chinese take away meals around.
Great food, Really busy during peak times . Dinner packs are very cheap but good food at the same time. try Peter's home made spring rolls and dim sims , always a favorite for me !

Their food was OK, but I was only able to eat the rice as they wouldn't accommodate my gluten free diet. They understood my requirements and they did check all their ingredients, however after confirming that there was wheat and gluten in pretty much everything, they were not prepared to alter their menu to help me. (eg, cook some veges without flour) The rice was nice though.
For the life of me, I cannot understand how you deem this to be a ‘satisfactory’ experience that warrants ‘3’ stars. After all, VanessaT1, omitting the flour when cooking vegetables is not rocket science and should not be too difficult for any half decent chef. I fear your rating may be too generous to say the very least.
We also have family members with coeliacs disease, so we know from personal experience how difficult things can be. However, as a person who spends much time in the kitchen, I cannot see why it was such an issue for this business to refuse your (basic) request and we are very disappointed.
I thank you for this rating, as this will certainly be one place we shall be avoiding in the future.
I can understand your concern, however I feel I am justified in giving them 3 stars.
I have been caught out many times at restaurants where I have requested my meal be cooked gluten free, only to find out later (and getting sick from my meal) that they were just nodding their heads to please me, even though they had no idea what I was requesting.
This restaurant understood my diet needs however at the time they did not feel that they could accommodate it. At least they were honest.
I would rather they refuse to cook my meal than later pay the price of eating a meal full of gluten.
My experience in 2010 was satisfactory.
My family's usual chinese take-away! Fantastic food, extensive menu and great value for money. However, as missymoo suggested, I would suggest phoning ahead as they get extremely busy and the wait can be long.

excellent fresh, msg free, chinese food. large menu to choose from. Would recommend you ring to pick up as wait can be up to an hour if you just drop in. Very popular as you can see. Fresh produce used and meal cooked as per order. Excellent friendly service, great value for money. Only costs us approx $30. to feed a family of four. Also have special packs available.
