Been to Hong Lin Chinese Restaurant a few times now and the food is always delicious. The menu is quite extensive and has a lot of variety (honey black pepper spare ribs is one of my favourites!). The portions are generous and great for sharing, and the staff are friendly. The place is not flashy, but it's worth checking out if you are after good Chinese food.

I'm actually a regular, having first tried out this restaurant since the beginning of 2011. I was really impressed at first and over time, it seems that there is an air of 'apathy' developing within its walls.

Last night the service was not good, mainly due to one particular employee who neglects to give you a bottle of water (so you have to ask for one) and then proceeds to go behind the counter and talk on his phone quite loudly. (Do I really need to hear about your brother's mouth?) There was no background music or other customers to prevent hearing his phone conversation, so perhaps he could have moved out of earshot to make our dining experience a bit more pleasurable.

A while ago I had the displeasure of an employee sitting at a table with his mates , all of them eating and swearing profusely.
Last night's meal was average - the fried rice had a clump of unmixed (white) rice amongst it.

I'm questioning the dining in experience now, the food is still good but the service - perhaps take away from now on??

i like the take away here, very affordable. you get what you pay for and sometimes must wait a bit

I used to live in hamilton hill and would visit here on a very regular basis. I still go there if im in the area. Meals are very cheap and theres a great variety to chose from.The wait for takeaway is a bit longer than most chinese takeaways but food is always of a very good quality

order takeaway frequently. Good size servings and good food creates good value for money. When ordering by phone they always say 15mins but it can be significantly longer. Definite improvment in quality of food since new owners took over

Eat takeaway from here about twice a month. Usually have Crispy Skin Chicken, Garlic Beef & Fried Rice. Food is great, ready within 20mins of phone order. Chicken and beef is always tender and heaps of meat - not filled with vegetables like other places. Husband has been coming here for approx. 7 years and me for 5 years. If parents are visiting we will order from here
