I have never really liked Hudsons, as the coffee is too weak tasting and reminds me of instant, however I always find myself back here due to the consistency, and have noticed in the past couple of weeks it has greatly improved under new ownership and management- there are a few staff that are lazy, and most have no "care-factor" but one guy and girl in particular make great coffee and are friendly. They seem to be improving as they go, too.

I tend to get coffee here when I'm in the city, mainly to avoid the coffee snobs in the "boutique" cafés, who are obviously too cool for school.
I drink long blacks, and they are actually quite good here. I probably wouldn't delve into the milky, sugar syrup range of drinks though.
The guys that work here are really polite and friendly, more than you'd expect from a chain café. There is however one girl who can't manage s smile, and seems to need some training in good customer service.

Approximate cost: $4

I similarly avoid syrupy coffees with stupid names from those chain places too, the coffee should be good enough on its own!

Even when this coffee shop is busy everyone there is calm and happy to serve you. If you having a rough day in Hobart, go in there for a time out and just watch the world walk by
