My friend recommended this place as having the best char grilled calamari and she was not wrong.
I also had the greek salad which unfortunately had too much lemon on it and the sweet potato cake which was a nice surprise. Although fried there was not too much batter, it was crispy and not greasy.
The decor is simple, old classic done with a modern twist just like the meals.
Not a very large venue but big enough.
Its only about a 5 minute walk up puckle street from the moonee ponds railway station. sooo easy to find.
This is another favourite place I have added to my places to visit next time I'm in Melbourne.

Best fish and chips ever - always get the grilled Dory and a Greek salad, calamari is yum! Fast and friendly service.

Kind of pricey for fish and chips. The fish,prawn, scallops were all very fresh and tasted great, but the chips were dry and hard. Layout of the store is a bit strange as you have tackle your way through waiting customers and petiole dining in just to get to the counter to order. Overall ok, but if you want a traditional cheap fish and chip feed there are plenty of places around.
