great supermarket, lots of things the coles and safeway dont have. Also they have non advertised specials that beat even Aldi prices. Although they are marginally more expensive on groceries, you can all-ways find a cheap alternative.
i also found the normal and special beer and wine prices to be better than dans, except for when dan has specials on slabs.
overall great store, pity they have to put up with so much abuse from druggies and drunks. i only shop there after 4pm when security is on as i feel much safer, with the heavy security they employ. good job....... on a personal note i have herd people complain the security is too heavy handed, i say not heavy handed enough, while shopping at safeway in aclan st i was attack by a guy for no apparent reason. i was punched four times and left bleeding on the floor for 3 to 4 minutes before staff attended to me. A similar incident happened at IGA, but before my would be attacker could call me a "c__nt' for the third time after he bumped into me, security grabbed him and through him straight out the door. i was then walked to my car, a good safe place to shop.

While I wouldn't do my everyday shopping here because of the prices, this IGA is one of a kind. The variety of gourmet food products is fantastic with a good focus on organic, locally made produce also.

An intimate supermarket with a wonderful choice of selected products not found in large supermarket chains. Things like Dutch goods, better quality crackers and breads. Also has a large bottle shop.
