The calamari is delicious and always a favourite, as is the special Italian hot chocolate they serve. It's a great place to go with groups as there is a private room down the back. Good place to go with kids too, they enjoy the pizzas.

Great authentic pizza and pasta restaurant. I have visited several times and also had take-away. They are very accommodating of children and usually quick with the meals. The wood fired pizza is their specialty - yum!

Il Borgo pizza is one of the best in Melbourne.
Great list of toppings and lots of variety. They also do not just pile it on with soggy results like I see at so many places.
Service could be improved but it is adequate.
Favorites include the Gorgonzola, the Pumpkin (has yummy hot salami w/ the sweet pumpkin), and the Contadina (i ask for mushrooms added to that one for an extra earthy flavour).
If you get it to take away, ask them not to cut it. The crust will stay much nicer on the trip home.

These guys have great wood fired pizzas, tasty pastas and delicious desserts. Service is amazingly quick and friendly just like a place in Italy. There is a great atmosphere here and a place where you can dine and chat with friends. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Food and service were just fantastic! Been quite a few times now and was perfect every time, will definitely be going back again. I think the pizza's are the best I've had and the other mains and deserts are great too.

First time tonight. They were busy. A tight space to wait for the take away, but worth it. A few minor improvements (some happy faces would help) and they would get a great reputation.

We ordered pizzas and 2 pasta dishes. The pizzas were as expected and just ok, but the pasta seemed to have been something that they recylced and warmed up in the microwave. It was quite mushy. The bald man that works there seemed more interested in chatting my friend up than having respect for himself or the food he served. He was showing off and made too many provocative and sleezy comments for my liking.

Fabulous wood fired pizzas & calzone on thin crispy bases. They do basic pasta with your choice of sauces as well eg:spag, penne, fettuccine, tortellini, ravioli & gnocchi W napoli, carbonara, matricianna, pesto & bolognese. Of course there were the obligatory lasagna, marinara & spinach/ricotta cannelloni. We had the pesto W penne which was fragrant with garlic & basil and creamy in texture. Pizzas of choice were Meat Lovers for the teenage boys, the Mexicana for the chilli head in the family and a Paesana for me. It had Fior di Latte cheese on it & I was curious as I had not heard of this cheese. It did not disappoint! They were all delicious.
