I was with IMAN for four years as an overseas worker. Their cover was amazing. Although I paid slightly more than I do now for private health cover on a monthly basis, they paid out 100% for virtually everything. I cannot fault them, as I had no problems with their cover, their service or reimbursement, which was easy, prompt and great. I would recommend IMAN (underwritten by nib) to foreign workers who do not qualify for MediCare. I actually wish I could have stayed on that plan, but once you can claim from MediCare, you can no longer stay with IMAN. Great pity. I would gladly pay a bit more to get more back in terms of overall health cover.

Approximate cost: $300 for top cover

I compared a few funds for 457 visa health insurance and found IMAN to be the cheapest by far. Their budget cover also covers most areas (except for dental) including outpatient which is handy.
