Extremely professional and affordable. The staff were extremely friendly, efficient, and made my hair look fabulous in half the time it takes many hairdressers. I really liked the salon decor too, stylish not clinical.

I went to Inspired Creations having purchased a $45 Groupon for a haircut and half a head of foils. I normally don't colour my hair (which is dark brown), so I was a bit hesitant, asking for natural looking highlights. The cut was great, but the highlights were way too bright for my liking. In retrospect, this was probably my fault for not being specific as to exactly what colour/look I wanted. I left the salon upset, but didn't say anything to the stylist. The next day I called the salon and explained that I was unhappy with my hair colour. Jules (the owner/manager?) completely understood, invited me back to the salon, and fixed them in half an hour with a toner. She then explained what I should ask for next time and wrote down everything, too. The customer service during the second visit would absolutely make me recommend this salon. I'll be going back.

I decided to try Inspired Creations on the advice of a friend (and I had received a discount voucher in the mail). My hair at this time was darker and looking a bit dull so I wanted to lighten up with a 1/2 head of foils. My appointment was with Neneh.
Although she did spend ~5 minutes discussing my hair needs with me, she didn't seem to listen to what I was asking for and kept telling me that it would take time to lighten my hair up so I would need to do it gradually. I know my hair, and I know from past experience that it lightens really easily so I was annoyed that she was telling me how my hair would react after barely meeting me. I really wasn't happy with the number of foils put in my hair, given that my request was to lighten my colour - it was substantially fewer than other salons have done in the past and took 1/4 of the time that it usually does. Across the centre of my head she used one wide foil strip, which would have been fine if I had a square head but since I don't I ended with up colour approximately 2cm from the hair root at the sides, instead of close to the scalp. The colour of the foils was actually pretty good but there weren't nearly enough foils placed in my hair and they weren't close enough to the scalp.

I also wasn't happy with the cut. My hair tends to go wavy when wet, so in the past, hair dressers have straightened it to make sure all ends are neat (I haven't had to pay for this separately as it's part of getting the cut). As I didn't want to pay extra for straightening she cut it wet - once I got home and straightened it myself it was noticeable that it was uneven and chunky.

Even with a discount voucher my hair cost ~$150 which seemed really steep for what is essentially a suburban salon. Overall, this was very disappointing and I won't be back.

Approximate cost: $150
