Jam & Cream is a quirky little cafe with an extremely friendly owner and staff. Their scones, homemade jam and yummy cream are to die for. I have taken several friends there over the past few years and they are always excited about our next visit. A great place for an afternoon catch up with great food as a bonus.

A cute cafe in Heidelberg that specialises in scones.
The place has a cute and kitschy retro fit out. (There is even a pink caravan in the back yard).
The scones are made on the spot and are delicious. I ordered the cheese and plain original. The cheese scones were very good as was the plain original. The cream was nice but the jam was a bit runny.
The menu had two scones with tea for $15 which is slightly on the pricey side; but than again you may be paying for the novelty factor.

Remember those enormous sponge cakes with whipped cream in the middle and passionfruit icing that your Nana used to make? Pies with real chicken and buttery pastry? Remember milk in glass bottles and paper straws? Slurping real home made soup that tasted of ingredients and not commercially manufactured formulae? Remember all the gorgeous little Nana knick knacks you'd gaze at while munching into a slab of fresh cake, slathered with jam and cream?

Well memories will come flooding back when you walk through the door of Jam and Cream.

The Nanas who run Jam and Cream provide all that and more. Their cakes are simply exquisite and generously filled with cream. The pies are drool-worthy and they even 'write' Jam and Cream in the top of your pumpkin soup with cream! The scones are delicious and come in an amazing range of flavours, freshly baked as you order them.

There is a gorgeous little old caravan out the back where if you're lucky, you can squeeze in and enjoy an old fashioned high tea with your kids. The kids lemonade comes in a little glass bottle with a paper straw and is magically pink! The fairy bread isn't just triangles of margarine and supermarket white bread, not when they can make pinwheels of shimmering sprinkles with real butter and thick, fresh white bread.

The prices are a little higher than your average local cafe, but it is well worth it for the quality of the food and how satisfied you'll feel upon leaving. It is more than just food, it is the Nana experience.

PS: If you mention it's your birthday, out comes a big bell to count your age and everyone since happy birthday to you! WONDERFUL!!!!

This place is a real treat for a weekend arvo tea. Extensive scone menu but we just stick with the regular variety. The cream is real whipped cream but the jam is a little on the thin side, more like a sauce. The pot tea is yummy and compliments the scones. Dining inside or outside is lovely and there's a cute caravan that accommodates about 8 - best you book that. We've been here twice now and will be back again. Highly recommended for a girls day out just for fun.

A quaint & cozy tea house. The atmosphere is really nice, feels like you have travelled back in time to a world where there are no digital pressures and the only important thing is arriving to tea on time.
They serve lovely finger sandwiches, pin wheel sandwiches, scones, cakes etc. And of course, lots of tea.
