I adopted my dog from Jaws & Paws one year ago. He is the most beautiful natured, healthy & loving little dog, who has become the love of my life. I was so impressed with the work that Jaws & Paws were doing & was so thankful that they saved my little boy from disaster, allowing him to have the wonderful life that he now has. I also completely disagree with the first review, as I could not recommend Jaws & Paws more highly. For an organisation with no government funding, it is clear to see that the work that they put in comes straight from the heart & their sincere love of animals.

I honestly feel that the first review is purely and simply slander. I have had several experiences with this organisation and i have seen exactly where the animals have come from. I also know that the staff of this organisation would not rehome an animal that has the problems that you have described. I visited the organisation at the time tiger was under their care and i can tell you now that he did not have fleas or ringworm when he left, if he had had ringworm then the staff and other cats would have it as well. It is part of the organisations policy that the animals are flead and wormed before they are rehomed and they certainly would not rehome an animal with a staph infection. I am well aware of the issues tiger had with his eyes as i had seen him in recovery, most organisations would not have spent hundreds of dollars on one particular animal. The people of this organisation are purely and simply trying to do the right thing and for someone to come along and give them a bad name publicly without any proof is disappointing. The decisions that these people have to make on a daily basis would shock you, they have a strictly NO KILL policy and im sure you would have had to sign some sort of form that states that if YOU are not CAPABLE of caring for the animal then it is to be returned. It is sad that YOU made the decision to have the animal put to sleep when you could have asked for help. It seems like you just didnt want to try, animals are hard work and if you arent capable of dealing with an animal that may have a few minor issues then dont adopt from a rescue organisation. I have personally volunteered my time to help out where i can and i can tell you now that these animals do not live in a filthy environment at all, all of these animals have the highest standard of care especially the cats. From what i have seen none of the animals in the program have any issues with fleas or ringworm so i think you really need to get your facts straight. I Think that your statement is false and should be removed, you have taken it to far by falsifying facts and publicly telling people to avoid the organisation. I just hope people will ignore your review and ACTUALLY find out for themselves.

I feel I just have to let you know what happened with Tiger as it has been one of the hardest experiences I have been through, sadly when I got Tiger from you he was as you know he was covered in fleas, bites, Staph Infection, chronic eye issues mainly from the one of which was operated on and also the other one of which also had an ulcer for a lot longer than a few days as you told me. Tiger also had a genetic eye disorder of which his eyelid curled under causing irritation and pain, again which any vet would have also told you. Sadly, on top of all of this Tiger also was covered in ringworms, which obviously had also been an extremely obvious ongoing issue with hair missing etc. We over the past few months grew to love Tiger and tried numerous medications to help assist of which sadly Tiger was already so immune compromised he could not shake infections from ringworm, etc. and due to my 18 month old daughter then also getting ring worm of which is now all over the house (spores last up to 9 months with daily washing and cleaning) we have had a very sad and extremely painful decision advised by numerous vets to put him to sleep. Due to the fact that Tiger was so uncomfortable and sadly probably had a serious underlying medical issue like Leukemia etc. we had no other choice. I know you think you are doing the right thing by saving all these animals, but, when you then hand them over to a family especially with small children / babies of which are amongst many other children you need to really rethink and be considerate to people who do want to help, but I dont think anyone deserves to spend $1000, (which is not the point) but to bond and love an animal (especially children who cannot understand where their Tiggy is when put to sleep) to then within months have to put him to sleep. It is horrific and you need to be accountable for what you are really doing, as all animals in your care must have fleas, ringworms and god knows what else as it is highly contagious and impossible to treat in the situation of which you have the animals. My husband is a health officer for council and he warned me if I could not come and see where the cat came from it had to be pretty bad of which the vet also had to agree based on the state of poor little Tiger. As a human being and a so called carer of animals you need to be accountable to what you are doing, I am so glad I had the opportunity to give Tiger some kind of happiness and family environment with full care, as god knows he deserved it, but, next time be honest to people so they know what a horrifically painful and mammoth task on all levels they have in front of them, PLEASE BE VERY AWARE OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME AS IT IS SO SAD FOR ME AND MY FAMILY OF TWO LITTLE GIRL"S WHO ADORED OUR LITTLE SICK TIGER! I DON"T WANT ANYONE ELSE GOING ON SUCH A SAD JOURNEY! RESCUE A PET FROM PLACES LIKE THIS AND BEWARE!!!
