Well it became very clear to me today that JB HiFi's monopoly has turned them into a business like all other large monopoly businesses - THE CUSTOMER COMES LAST.!
After going to their stores since the opening of the original Camberwell Store and having spent 10's of thousands of dollars over three decades, today they insulted me by not being willing to replace a $15 DVD which was clearly faulty. It was clearly brand new, I had the wrapping with the JB price tag, but I did not have the docket. In years past, they would have gladly exchanged an item that was clearly not working. Today at their DONCASTER store I was treated like some form of criminal.
It was without a doubt one of the most embarrassing moments that I have had in a store - the implication being that I was dishonest.
So yes, I am now going to do my best to boycott them. The fact they were prepared to lose a loyal customer over a $15 DVD says it all! Yes I know I did not have the docket, but the packaging was clearly marked JB Hi Fi and the item did not work!
