I spent a night at Caves house on the Easter long weekend. It was amazing the staff were lovely and helpful. The room was tidy and I loved the fact they had no TV's in there. The buffet dinner was great value for $40 they had food for all tastes. the breakfast was fantastic also great value great service great location. will return for sure

Providing the only on site location at Jenolan Caves, Caves House to be honest is a real let down. They provide accommodation for all budgets from back packers to deluxe. We chose to stay "classic" as it is one of the only four mid range rooms with private bath/toilet facilities.

While we were there we noticed a couple complaining because there room did not have an ensuite, this is something to consider when your booking your room as the majority of rooms in Cave House are shared facilities.

The staff... depends who you get!! When we went to check we had the room booked for arrival between 12-1pm we were told by the "gentleman" in no uncertain terms check in was at 2pm... SO we had to walk around for an hour before we could unpack... That said there was another lady there who was more than helpful... we miss read when breakfast was served and she arranged for us to get morning tea from the bistro! (I wish I knew her name, she was a real asset)

The view from our room was nice, being on the second floor of the house, the kitchen/restaurant and bar being the floor below it could sometimes get a bit noisy specially early mornings or evenings.

The room was very run down in appearance and could really use a renovation to make it more appealing. While the ensuite as a generous sized shower, sharing this space is the basin and toilet which is rather cramped.

The room is well set up with a generous sized bed, tables and tea/coffee facilities. Water on site is supplied from the local springs so it is very fresh... the coffee they supply is horrible!! The rooms are serviced daily.

As it was our honeymoon we received complimentary rose petals, chocolates and candles on our arrival, this was a nice touch. For about $30 more you can also have wine.

If your only planing on a day visits it might be worth wild getting accommodation else where (there is a lot cheaper NICER accommodation available but this means a bit of a drive) just over night not so bad.. I wouldn't recommend a longer stay.

Approximate cost: $From $154/Night

Thanks for the review, good to know about the shared facilities!

We stayed in a classic room. It was about the size of a large bedroom with a double bed and a small table with a jug tea and coffee making. The en-suite had a large shower. The room was serviced daily. We were a short walk from all the caves and the ticket office.

Approximate cost: $179 per night
