I would highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs, expensive but average food, poor coffee, long waits and extremely rude owner

Approximate cost: $40

JG's Instagram account is filled with gorgeous images of the cafe and their weekly specials which basically gives me know option but to pop over every week and taste their new dishes. Great place with a great vibe and very dog friendly.

This place has a very nice vibe and the design is so bright and colourful. The food is also very good and tasted fresh. The prices are a bit steep though, but I think it's worth it.

This is one of my favourite cafe's in Brunswick because of the accommodating service and delicious food. The staff are really kind and help you if you have any questions about the menu. The meals are a bit overpriced though, which is probably the only downside. The scrambled eggs were well cooked and tasted so fresh and beautiful. I will definitely be back, but just be mindful of the price.

Nice newer cafe in West Brunswick. I headed here with a friend the other week for lunch. Menu tended to lean towards and all day breakfast with plenty of quirky things on the menu. I kept things simple with poached egg, avo, salmon and hollandaise sauce. Meal was good, and the eggs poached just right. Wasn't too busy for a lunchtime which was good. They also have a nice outdoors area but it was raining so we didn't head out. Overall a nice place that I'll visit again.

This cafe is a newer addition to West Brunswick cafes. Colourful and bright, the cafe has a roomy interior with wooden decor and creative design panels - made of rulers etc. Food was very nice, a little difficult to understand what is what on the menu for a few items, as they use some ingredients that are foreign. Can recommend the poached eggs and potato hash, yum. Prices are ok, especially considering most items are organic. Sourdough bread for my toast was very nice. Would go back - a good local option.

Approximate cost: $17-20 breakfasts

John Gorilla recently opened up in our lovely 'hood, and what a nice addition to the local cafe scene. Already packed nearly every time I drive or walk by, this cafe is already a trendy hit amongst the locals. As for my experience, the coffee is hit or miss. At $4 for a small, or $5 for a large, they really need to ensure quality. However, I think because it's still a new business they're just working out the kinks.
I imagine once things settle all will run more smoothly (we waited a long time for take-away coffees the other day). They have one of those lovely windows attached to the barista area so you can grab your cuppa on the quick - love it!
The place is small but we managed to bring in a pram, and they've outdoor seating as well.
Haven't tried any of the bigger dishes, just the sweets which were lovely. And the chai tea - wowza! they make a mean chai, yum
