My children go to this school and unfortunately I can't relocate them to another one near by, the amount of homework that is sent home with my prep student is rediculous my daughter in grade 6 gets less, I think too much is expected from preps, my children are constatantly bullied which is sadly a common problem in eve school but even after countless visits to the princable they it continiued, my children are constantly bring home events, programmes ect, that cost money I know its to help support the school but my resources are stretched enough just trying to support my family and get by I do my best to keep up because my children's education is important, I just wish there was moresupport for our children and education the schools themselves can't be blamed for that, on the upside my children arent doing too bad with their reading and spelling so I can't complain too much,

Hi Anniebombell, thanks for another detailed review. Despite what you are told, you as a parent have the right to say ‘no’ to anything you feel is inappropriate for your child. When one of our children wanted to attend school, we simply ensured that our home was a ‘homework-free’ zone. Our philosophy was rather simple, any work not completed within the ‘six plus hour’ school day, was not coming home to invade the child’s personal/family time. In relation to the bullying issue, we empathize completely. For all the time, effort, money and advertising that goes into bullying prevention, the reality is that very little is done to protect those most vulnerable. Please keep in mind that as a parent, you have the right to make ‘any’ changes to your child’s workload and attendance that you see fit. Home schooling is also a valid option that works for many, so there are alternative options available should you choose to implement them.
