5 reviews about Kanta

I ate here last night, I heard from a friend and checked out urbanspoon. It had a good rating, the area isn't that nice nor interior for kanta. However the food was worth it, made really well - and unusual has a couple dishes we hadn't seen from going to other japanese restaurants. Price is tad pricier for the usual standard japanese dishes. Service isn't amazing and wasn't expectating much from a place like this. td:lr - go for food.

Been to Kanta on two different occasions, once for lunch and another time for dinner. The restaurant is quite popular and it's difficult to get a seat if you do not have a reservation, unless you are okay with waiting. Food is delicious and fairly good value for money (unfortunately, there is a $20 minimum order per person if you are having a dine-in dinner). We tried the beef tataki, spiced pork belly, duck (kamo) steak, beef tongue steak, chicken katsu-don, claypot hot & spicy noodles, and some sushi. Everything was cooked well, flavourful and scrumptious - we finished everything on our plates. Sushi was fresh and well-prepared.

This is a good place to eat yummy Japanese food. Making reservations in advance is advised and consider buying takeaway if you're not willing to pay at least $20 per person for dinner.

This place is regularly packed during dinner time and since we're close by, we give it a go. The food is definitely up to standard (we had teriyaki fish and chicken katsu) however service is not really what we expect in this place. Having said that though, the teriyaki sauce is probably one of the best we have tasted. Price is medium up considering it's not really in a strategically located location.

Approximate cost: $15

Small restaurant with only 1 chef and 3 waitresses. Very authentic Japanese food. Food is prepared by the only chef, so expect to wait for at least 30 minutes before it is served. I would recommend this place but be sure to make a booking and be there when they open at 6pm.
