We'd booked in for the Australia Day Aussie-style BBQ at $35.00 per head. The meal was confirmed by the hotel to which the restaurant is attached on the previous Friday as from 6-7.30pm with the meat cooked outdoors on the BBQ near the fish pond. We arrived at 6.05 pm to find no BBQ. The restaurant casually said 'sit wherever in the restaurant'. We were served buffet style from 6.30pm. No BBQ'd meats, partially cooked chicken and waiters who were just like Manuel from Fawtly Towers. My partner's glass was topped up with water but not mine, the tablecloths on the buffet were badly draped and tripped us up and the tea sachets were served with no hot water or milk. Caveat Emptor - this Aussie style BBQ was not worth the effort to find the restaurant, endure the comical waiters and broken hot food metal servers which kept clanging. That's about seven/eight times the lid banged back ruining a romantic meal for two. Where was the Executive Chef Twan Wyers when needed at work?

Approximate cost: $35 per head
