We visited this museum while on holidays in pt Lincoln. What we really liked about it was that there were exhibits that our sons could touch, climb on and play with, unlike many museums. For example they had water pumps that children could try out. Was well worth a visit.

The Koppio Smithy Museum is situated in the picturesque hills country and a 30 minute drive from Port Lincoln, Tumby Bay and Cummins. The grounds, although smaller than some of the other historical villages, are well kept and well maintained. There are a number of huts, cottages and businesses from yesteryear all well presented and maintained. The exhibits, although rather old are clean, bright and well arranged. This site boasts of probably the smallest bank and the smallest post office in size, not much bigger that a modern toilet. We spent well over 2 hours looking around and in particular the exhibit of the Black Tuesday bush fires of January 11th 2005 which shows the events and aftermath which ravaged the area. A truly inspiring museum and well worth a look.
