Nice layout for the type of place it is, friendly staff, reasonable prices. A fantastic range of Asian food. Their biggest advantage here is the choice of dishes and cuisines. Food was well cooked, and well flavoured.

Have been going regularly to Kotaraya for well over two years. The food is excellent there - my favourite dish is the nasi lemak beef and the Haianese chicken rice.

For a great Malaysian experience you cant go wrong.
Excellent authentic recipes just like you buy on the street in Malaysia. They know how to fry Sambal Ikan Bilis so that its soft and moist. Most fake Malaysian restaurants cook the crap out this fish till its too dry and crispy. Excellent food highly recommended.

I have dined in a few times and been happy with the food, but this week we decided to get some take out and I wasn't too happy... The food still tasted great, but the servings were tiny! We had the chicken with curry and beef with curry, they were both $17 and they came in one of those small size boxes you get dips from at the deli... Very small!
I had ordered a soup for starters, so I got full, but my partner didn't and it was far from enough to fill you up for dinner...
Again, have been happy with dine in experience, but probably won't order take out from them again!

Kotaraya has gone a bit upmarket over the years from a small rather dark restaurant to a large light filled bustling place with an extensive and trendy looking menu. The food has stayed the same though-consistently above average. The restaurant offers Malaysian, Chinese and Thai cuisine so there will probably be something for everyone. I have only tried their Malaysian food, but the Chinese and Thai food that I saw being served looked very appetizing. The service is friendly if a bit disorganized. Overall prices are low to moderate.

I have always enjoyed the food here. The Curry Laksa is great and the rice noodle dishes are fantastic. Good value and if you can get here for lunch you can get fabulous deals under $10

Kotaraya has food from all over Malaysia. It's a modern looking place that was recently renovated, but I liked it before. The food is absolutely delicious, and affordable. I always eat the lunch specials, it is great value, but the prices keep on going up. The service is okay, sometimes they forget to do things or bring you food, which is annoying. They do great takeaway as well, and I love eating here every few weeks.

Haven't dined in here, although the restaurant always looks really busy, but the takeaway is awesome. The range is large, but not endless, and we eat here at least once a month
